About the role
Our audience is technical and skeptical. Marketing fluff bounces. What lands: a working sample repo, a post that explains a real failure mode, a five-minute video where the product actually works. You'll own this surface area end to end — docs, demos, video, sample repos, occasional conference talks — and feed what you learn back into product.
What you'll do
- Own the docs site: structure, voice, examples that work on the first try.
- Build and maintain a library of sample repos and end-to-end demos against real warehouses.
- Produce technical content: long-form posts, short videos, talks at relevant conferences.
- Engage in public — Slack, Discord, GitHub issues, Hacker News — without being cringe.
- Close the loop with product: surface recurring questions as documentation or product gaps.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years writing production code (TypeScript, Python, or similar) — this is not a marketing role.
- Excellent technical writing — clear, specific, opinion-bearing.
- Comfortable on camera and on stage; you've spoken to a technical audience before.
- Strong taste: you can tell when a demo is actually impressive vs. just busy.
Nice to haves
- Background in data engineering, analytics engineering, or MLops.
- Existing audience or following in the data / developer-tools space.
- Experience with video tooling — Descript, ScreenFlow, Final Cut, or similar.
Compensation & benefits
$130K – $170K + equity. Salary bands are honest — the range above is what we'll actually pay, anchored on level and location. Plus:
- Meaningful early-stage equity (4-year vest, 1-year cliff).
- Health, dental, and vision coverage (US) or local equivalent (EU).
- Home-office stipend and annual learning budget.
- Four weeks of vacation, plus the week between Christmas and New Year.
- Twice-yearly team offsites.
